Catholic Charities Adoption Services is a licensed child adoption agency and has been providing adoption services as Catholic Social Services since 1945, making us a well-established and respected adoption provider in the community. Our Florida adoption agency provides services in 25 counties within Florida to all members of the adoption triad including birth parents, adoptive families, and Adopted persons. We offer non-judgmental support and information to anyone regardless of age, ethnic origin, or religion.
Meet Our Adoption Counselors
Joan Woody, LCSW
Joan is a licensed clinical social worker and has worked with Catholic Charities Adoption Services since 1989. Before joining Catholic Charities, she worked for 13 years with another Florida adoption agency. Her wealth of knowledge and experience in the adoption field is a huge asset to the agency, program, and the community. She is a certified Infant Adoption Awareness trainer and is available to provide training in the community on current practices in infant adoption.
Leesa Elliott, MS, LMHC
Leesa is a licensed mental health counselor and has worked with Catholic Charities Adoption Services since 2006. Previously she has worked in a variety of social work, management and counseling positions. She is a certified Infant Adoption Awareness trainer and is available to provide training in the community on current practices in infant adoption. Leesa and her husband adopted their three children through Catholic Charities, Diocese of St. Petersburg in the 1980’s and she is honored to be part of this ministry.
Geralyn Ryan, LCSW
Geralyn is a licensed clinical social worker and has been working in pregnancy and adoption work since 1999 for the agency. She is also an “Understanding Infant Adoption” trainer since 2002. She has been part of a nationwide endeavor since then to encourage and support greater knowledge and understanding of accurate adoption information to those who provide pregnancy counseling and care to women in unplanned pregnancies. Geralyn is the director of the Caring Choices pregnancy program and the Adoption program for the Diocese of St. Augustine and works directly with adoptive families who are wanting to adopt.
